Made in Seville, Spain since 1841. The absolute best for a latte, a bowl of salmorejo, or holding a block of Marseille soap. Unlike other flatter transferware, La Cartuja is made of earthenware, which is thicker and heavier yet still refined. Also, its colors, especially the rose and the teal, are stunning. Sadly, La Cartuja de Seville closed its factory last summer. But good news: thanks to the city of Seville’s investment, the factory resumed production on April 6, 2026.
