A Spanish cookbook with a murky past! Written in 1950 by a widow/single working mother and known for its simplified traditional recipes. How did Franco's Falange party get the rights to this cookbook? Was the author a member of the Falange party or just its employee? And was writing the cookbook an act of resistance or merely the passion project of an aspiring chef? The book answers none of these questions but does have a bunch of great recipes.
